Problem Areas in Cities Of The Future
Objective
The main purpose of this workshop is to discuss how the space in which human beings, as future time actors, will affect them. It is believed that humanity will have to deal with many unexpected problems in the near future. Foremost among these are individualization, energy problems, and the future of some common diseases that cannot be prevented. Also, a life dependent on technology and the impact of technology on human nature are another dimension of the work.
It is clear that all these problems are directly related to urban life and urban planning. So what problems will cities face in the future and what should be available to solve them? What problems does technology addiction create for people and what values does it disconnect us from? The aim is to engage in theoretical discussions about the functioning of the global transformation that is mechanizing human beings in urban areas.
Objectives
The main objective of the Future Urban Challenges workshop is to diversify the solutions to increasingly complex urban problems, to be aware of what is likely to happen and, if possible, to determine a roadmap for overcoming the dilemmas that will arise.
In this context;
How will smart cities or technology dependency shape cities?
What dimensions will energy use and consumption reach?
In which direction will consumption habits evolve and what will they include?
Significance and Rationale
The main reason for addressing the problem areas in the cities of the future is that man is a future time actor. In other words, humanity carries its own existence into the future with the culture it possesses, and this process has recently taken an unexpected direction, not as expected, but with technological impositions. It can be said that today’s technical possibilities are causing a transformation beyond what people expected. People have created technology to make life easier, but technology itself has become one of the most important problems of our lives.
It is crucial for the future of mankind to know how to darken their own future with their own hands.
Target Audience
The problems of cities are of direct concern to the people who live in them. Likewise, the issue is closely related to both academics and administrators.
As everyone knows, the most striking success of today’s world is social planning. The only way to maintain this success is to have a foreseeable vision for the future.
Methodology
This workshop will start with a small workshop to identify topics related to problem areas in the cities of the future. Then scientists and academics working in these fields will be contacted and asked to give a presentation on the identified topic.
The prepared papers will be presented to an invited audience at the City Thinking Hall.
The ideas and studies that emerge from this environment, where the discussions are also recorded, will be compiled into a book and printed.
