Prof. Dr. Murat ŞENTÜRK Science Committee Member
Senturk received his bachelor’s degree from Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication in 2004 and his master’s degree from Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Sociology in 2008 with his thesis entitled “Life Strategies of the Poor: The Examples of Kucuk Mustafa Pasha and Balat”. He received his Ph.D. from the same department in 2011 with his thesis entitled “Istanbul in terms of Urban Interventions”.
In 2013, he was a visiting researcher at the City University of New York Center for Place Culture and Politics. Currently working as a faculty member at Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Sociology, Senturk’s research interests include urban interventions, city and politics, sociology of space, poverty, family, media, technology addiction, and sociology of aging.
